This little table has a funny story behind it. One Saturday morning the girls and I were playing in the family room and out of the corner of my eye through the window I saw some furniture sitting at the end of the neighbors driveway. On further inspection there was a "FREE" sign on it. Score. There was a little brown sad looking table just waiting for someone to rescue it. Me! My husband, however, did not agree nor share my enthusiasm. Go figure. It took about an hour of begging and convincing him that "it's the perfect size and exactly what I've been looking for!" and threats to "just go buy the one hundred dollar one at NFM that I've been wanting" to FINALLY get him to take the walk of shame and rescue the free table. He must have had himself all tense (I can't imagine why) because as he picked up the table and turned to walk home, out went his back. Like, bad. That night he was seriously in agony. Did I feel bad, yes, of course, but a couple trips to the Chiro later he's just fine....and so is this little gem of a table! It needed some major TLC, wood glue and paint but I think it's perfect! Sorry dear.
Before (yes I got a little excited and forgot to take a picture before I started painting!)

After
just for fun my pretty in pink hydrangea!:)
Glad Brian is feeling back to normal. :) Dave was always embarrased to pick up free stuff of curbs...now he sees what transformations we can create with some elbow grease and paint. LOL So he's happy to pick up some junk now.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your NEW table! Perfect colors!
So glad you kept the aqua top - it looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the aqua top! How perfect is that table? Man, I looked for a long time for a console table like that with space underneath for a few of those woven storage ottomans. You found a great piece, and you can't beat the price! Well... maybe once you factor in the chiro's fees you can... lol. Hope he starts feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteFantastic job on the table! I love it.

ReplyDeleteI saw your post on Remodelaholic, where I submitted an entry table too! My husband still needs to be convinced that we should keep it, however!
